Discovery Sea Kayaks is dedicated to providing clients with unique kayaking adventures of the highest quality with a personal touch.

• Discovery Sea Kayaks offers one of the smallest kayak tours in the islands: no more than eight guests on any of their sea kayak tours. (For larger groups please ask about their custom tours.)
• Professionally trained, local and experienced kayak guides ensure your safety and enhance your enjoyment while kayaking the San Juan Islands.
• Top-quality up-to-date equipment is used, reflecting the latest in sea kayaking technology.
• Paddle pants, paddle tops and dry bags are provided for all kayak tours.
• Unique routes and destinations to the least visited areas of the San Juans.
• Discovery Sea Kayaks is a small company with a personal touch, the owners are also guides, avid sea kayakers, and adventurers.

Unique Kayak Adventure Trips
Discovery Sea Kayaks offers a variety of unique and interesting trip itineraries, including:

• Westside Day Trips - westside day paddles and their unique sunset paddle in one of the best locations for spotting Orca whales, seals, bald eagles, porpoise and other wildlife on the wild side of San Juan Island.
• Deluxe All-Inclusive Multi-day Kayak Adventure - first class all-inclusive adventure, exploring the islands by sea kayak. (with optional charter boat transportation to the more remote outer islands available.)
• Guided Rental Adventure - for those with some experience with camping but little or no paddling experience or those on a budget. Discovery Sea Kayaks will provide all kayaking, safety and paddling gear and equipment plus a professional knowledgeable guide for your safety, local knowledge and trip leadership. You provide your own camping gear, outfitting, food and share with camp chores.
• Multi-day Instructional Trips and Lessons - for those who want to learn a lot more about sea kayaking. These trips and classes are offered in single performance British style kayaks. All classes are taught by a trained kayak instructor, with wet-suits or dry suits provided. This is a hands on, get wet kind of class that is loads of fun while you explore the San Juan Islands.
• Custom Designed Kayak Excursions - Discovery Sea Kayaks specialty! What would you like to do? Custom group size? Special destination? Special needs? Call them with your request and they'll see if they can put together your trip.

Chartered powerboats can transport Discovery Sea Kayaks multi-day kayak adventure groups to remote outer islands, where guests paddle in pristine wilderness environments, far removed from overcrowded campgrounds and overused routes.

Small Groups
As a guest on Discovery Sea Kayaks’ tours you can expect personal attention by one of their professional guides. By limiting the tours to six to eight guests (not per guide), the guides can cater to all of your needs, safety, and wildlife education. Small groups tread significantly quieter and lighter on the environment, allowing you to harmonize with the fragile marine habitat and provide you with the best sea kayaking experience in the San Juan Islands.

Reservation Policy

Multi-Day Explorer and Guided Rental Tours:
A non-refundable 10% will be charged to your credit card at time of reservation. Payment is due in full upon arrival for your tour.

Cancellation Policy

Multi-Day Explorer and Guided Rental Tours:
You have 30 days prior to the day of the tour to cancel your reservation for a full refund, minus the non-refundable 10% charge. If you cancel within 29 days or less, a 40% administration fee will be applied to your credit card in addition to the 10% charge.
